The Vietnam War was a troth that was rattling controversial. At Kent State during a protest Guardsmen attempted to mete out a protest that had formed and it ended up with the guards flaming into the group of protesters cleansing 4 students and injuring several others. Many parents were outraged and frightened by what occurred and the heads of several colleges and universities unflinching to temporarily shut down their schoolhouse for the protection of their students. The Tonkin Gulf Resolution ended with Congress supporting the Presidents use of the armed forces of the United States in order to beat back attacks an d prevent further assault upon them (Doc E)! . President Johnson did not grow substantial evidence to evoke that the U.S oceanic vessels were being dismissed upon resulting in the conflict. This assumption and retribution by the US naval vessels led to President Johnson communicate Congress for a stoppage to approve operations in Southeast Asia (Doc G).
