Due to the Kent ground Incident, the Tonkin undo Resolution, and especially the My Lai shambles public opinion favoring the war was shattered. As the antiwar movement trudged on more and more supporter coupled their cause. A bulk of those supporters were college students who had joined universities in order to exclude being drafted into the military. These supporters dissented the war and related events such as prexy Nixons prayer for an additional 150,000 draftees (Doc B). Protests were ordered to be close down by Guardsmen and they attempted to do this in very violent shipway such as using saddle gas. At Kent State during a protest Guardsmen attempted to mete out a protest that had formed and it ended up with the guards flaming into the group of protesters cleansing 4 students and injuring several others.
